Accents on Artists
Dedicated to
Barbara Kay Toohil
Barbara Kay Toohil was the first artist dedicated to her craft I had ever met. She was the catalyst that let me go to college long after many of our friends had graduated into their own careers. I had grown up in a family business — artistic, but never a dream — until I met her. Barbara knew she was destined to design fashion at the age of ten. We met by chance — isn't that the way love stories go? After a storybook wedding, we worked to get her into the schools she needed to finish her degree in fashion. The rest is history. Health issues forced her to retire early, and together we redirected our focus to art, creating projects to the end. In 2020, Barbara Toohil succumbed to kidney failure and passed in hospice — a life shared by all who had the privilege to meet her. This book is dedicated to her hard work.
